Bafgan, “Bafi”, was a special dog. He got his name (afgan with B) because he liked to sing like afghans use to do. He had an excellent temperament - he often got us to laugh with his odd habits. He was always happy, never got mad, but still he had a strong hunter's mind. As a small puppy his coat was like a lamb's coat but the older he got the more beautiful his coat became.
Bafgan was Best of Opposite Sex in the Finnish Borzoi Club’s big specialty show in 1997, while his sister Belinda was Best of Breed. The show was judged by Nadine Johnson (Rising Star Borzoi), with over 100 borzois entered, 55 of them males.
Bafi sired two litters, which were very beautiful and produced very good breeding dogs, too. Later on, we have had a possibility to continue our breeding from these bloodlines.
